PR Gaz , Ajinomoto ink partnership for culinary competition

PR Gaz signed a memorandum of agreement with Ajinomoto Philippines to be the official LPG (liquefied petroleum gas) provider for the Ajinomoto 3rd Umami Culinary Challenge. The event is slated this January 20, 2012 at the SMX Convention Center with about 26 culinary schools set to participate in the competition.

One of the sponsors of the 3rd Ajinomoto Umami Culinary Challenge, PR Gaz is providing the liquefied petroleum gas that will be used in the competition and will also give out LPG products as prizes for some of the activities in the Ajinomoto event.

“We are happy to be part of the 3rd Ajinomoto Umami Culinary Challenge, partnering in this endeavor with the country’s top maker of quality food and seasoning products. The event is a good venue to discover future culinary masters from among the competing schools. The competition also affords students from various culinary institutions the opportunity to show off their skills and talents and garner honors for their schools. And since our product, LPG, is an ‘essential’ part of cooking, we readily accepted Ajinomoto’s invitation to support the event,” said PR Gaz chief operating officer Siu Ping Par in a statement.

The Umami Culinary Challenge is an inter-school, multi-category cooking competition focusing on the tastiness of umami as the basic taste. It involves and engages student competitors in group and individual categories. It highlights the creativity, innovativeness and culinary skills of the participating students in creating dishes that maximize the full potential and usage of the umami taste. The 3rd Umami Culinary Challenge is a take-off from the success of the 2009 and 2010 competition.

Commenting on the first project that PR Gaz is partnering with Ajinomoto Philippines, Ms. Par said, “We at PRGaz share with Ajinomoto the mission to provide Filipino households with quality products. We hope that this event will be the start of a stronger partnership between our two companies as we look forward to working together with Ajinomoto Philippines on other projects in the future.”
